Recent Competitions
Springfit Invitational - Trampoline Competition
The latest Springfit Invitational trampoline competition brought some quality bouncing to Surrey on Saturday 6th November at Moor House School Sports Centre in Oxted. The superb venue saw trampolinists from various local clubs and schools compete for medals in various age and ability categories, while proud family members looked on from the viewing balcony.
Many children were taking part for the first time, and lots of them even walked away with medals. Coaches were impressed with the developing standard of the competition how much each competitor was taking away from the event. Parents agreed, with many commenting on their delight that such an event is available for their sporty little ones. Such a friendly event can help instill the importance of healthy competition while at the same time encouraging improvement and perseverance and can teach young people to manage the adrenaline of performing to a crowd. Levels of concentration are so high, and the delight at the surprise of the final scores is an emotion to be treasured.
Parents enjoy watching the spectacular advanced levels and pleasing synchronised category, where two performers jump the same routine at the same time.
The joy of winning a medal is evident in all the young athletes, and many of them are pictured here after the event.

Chloe Collins (13, Pointers), Jasmin Limb (12, Springfit), Jemima Clark (Anti-Gravity), Piya Shah (9, Anti-Gravity), Jessica Lottin (7, Pointers), Jemma Denman (10, Anti-Gravity), Breeze Maclean-Hewlett (9,
Anti-Gravity), Emily Reeves (9, Pointers), Gracie Usherwood (11, Anti Gravity), Abigail Barker (14, Pointers), Annabelle Palmer (8, Pointers), Ella Price (8, Anti-Gravity), Abigail Moore (8, Anti-Gravity), Amy Thornhill (10, Anti-Gravity) Katie Sweeney (9, Pointers)
Springfit Invitational Floor and Vault Competition
On Sunday 7th November, local gym clubs competed in a two-part
gymnastics competition at Oakwood Sports Centre, Horley. The
disciplines of individual floor routines and vaults were scored by a
panel of judges, and medals were awarded to those who performed best
in their age and difficulty category.
The standard of competition was raised once again, with children
performing twisting handspring vaults, and launching into somersaults
from the floor. There was plenty of enthusiasm from the crowd, and
they made lots of noise in encouragement for the athletes.
The afternoon was rounded off by a display from the newly formed
Springfit ‘team gym’ squad, who delighted the crowd with choreographed
moves and dance elements on the gym floor. Judge Adam Reynolds
said of the event “everyone here thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it
was great to see the gymnasts take such encouragement from the relaxed
friendly competition environment”.

Club Display's
Stars of Springfit Shine in Show
Springfit held their annual club display on Sunday, to great acclaim. The
spectacular gymnastics show carried a “Hollywood and Broadway” theme, and featured displays from every single
class run by the club. Coaches were in fancy dress, and 200 participants aged 3 to adult entertained and enthralled
the 300-strong crowd with tumbles, acrobatics and choreographed routines to songs from popular Hollywood
movies and theatre shows. There was a trampoline display from members of all ages, and several arenaline-filled
moments of aerial prowess, including double somersaults performed to music!
There was many a climactic moment as each class strove to outperform each other, using fancy dress and props
to give the afternoon a truly theatrical feel. The applause was unbounded for the efforts of the gymnasts who
seamlessly put together performances for the crowd, and clearly enjoyed being part of the fun event.
The show was directed by Head Coach Chris Bower, who outdid himself with simultaneous roles of stunt-co-
ordinator, motivational officer and lead choreographer.
Producer and Club manager Adam Reynolds compeered the afternoon dressed as popular movie stalwart Santa
Claus, getting audience members involved with movie themed questions and handing out prizes. There was an
Oscar-giving ceremony at the end for those who helped the club raise funds throughout the afternoon out by giving
up their time to get everything together. A massive task that was well accomplished, by all accounts. Many parents
were in awe of the organisation level of the club and how well the coaches responded to the challenge of getting so
many children involved.
With funds going directly back into equipment for the club members, people were happy to help, snapping up raffle
tickets and ordering professionally-filmed DVDs of the day as memorabilia. The club announced they were half-
way towards buying a set of bars to help further develop the skills of the 300 strong membership now at Springfit.
